Yankee Doodle Purchase Process

Thank you for choosing Yankee Doodle Stove & Fireplace Center! Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you purchase the perfect fireplace product for your home. 

*Notes: If your project has any time constraints, please discuss with our team. All permits and inspections are the responsibility of the homeowner.

Step 1: Decide on the Type of Product You Need

At Yankee Doodle, we offer a range of fireplace products to meet different needs. Start by selecting the type of product you are interested in:

  • Fireplace Glass Enclosure Doors
  • Freestanding Fireplace Screen
  • Wood, Gas, or Pellet Freestanding Stove
  • Wood, Gas, or Pellet Fireplace Insert
  • Wood or Gas Fireplace
  • Prefab/Manufactured Firebox
  • Gas Logs or Fireballs
  • Electric Fireplace
  • Outdoor Hearth Products
  • Other

Step 2: Gather Measurements and Photos

To determine which products will fit your space, we need accurate measurements and photos, or building plans for new construction or remodeling.

Required Photos:

  • A full view of the fireplace area, taken from a few steps back
  • Interior of the firebox
  • Exterior view of the chimney showing total height from bottom to top

Measurement Options:

  1. Use our Measurement Guide: Follow our guide to take measurements yourself. This can be found on our website or in our showroom.
  2. Schedule an In-Home Measurement / Site Visit: For a fee of $75 per fireplace, one of our staff members can come out to measure for you. This fee will be credited towards your purchase.
    *For glass fireplace enclosure doors, the in-home measurement is required. This fee will be credited towards your installation.

Step 3: Installation Planning (for Gas and Wood Products)

All permits and inspections are the responsibility of the homeowner. Please discuss your installation with our team.

 

If you’ve selected a gas or wood product and want it professionally installed, we can coordinate with our preferred installers:

  • Gas Product Installation: Discuss your needs with our team. The installer will then reach out to schedule an appointment and provide an estimate.
  • Wood Product Installation: Our team will help you coordinate with an installer and provide a general price range.

Step 4: Review Your Options

Once we have the necessary measurements or building plans, you can:

  • Visit Our Showroom: See your product options in person.
  • Receive Options by Email: We can email you options if visiting isn’t convenient.

Step 5: Choose Stylistic Options

When you decide on a model, you’ll be able to choose from various stylistic options to ensure your selection complements your space.

Step 6: Receive an Estimate

We’ll prepare and send you an estimate that includes the model and options you’ve chosen.

Step 7: Approve the Estimate and Start Your Order

If you’re happy with the estimate, simply call us or visit our store to make your payment and finalize your order.

  • Note on Lead Times: We will inform you of any expected lead times at this stage. If you have any specific time constraints, please let us know and we will do our best to meet your needs.
  • Installation Scheduling: After your order is placed, we will notify the installer, who will then coordinate with you to schedule the installation. Please note, during our busy season, lead times will be a bit longer.
